#bootswomen launches its first platform for women-centric products
The platform boots women and girls to be empowered by empowering products and services.
It’s the platform of the future, says the team behind #bearsits, and it’s also a brand that will have a strong presence in the tech industry.
The company launched its first crowdfunding campaign on Sunday, and by Wednesday, the platform was at over $1 million in donations, according to The Verge.
It was launched as a way to support women in tech and make them aware of their roles in the world, says co-founder and CEO Anna Dreyer.
“There are so many things we want to do in the future.
We want to create more jobs, increase the number of women in the workforce, and be a force for change,” she says.
One of the more notable features of #bondsits is the ability to use the platform to fund products that support the causes it advocates for.
The platform, which has a community of over 6,500 users, allows users to share products and ideas that are of a support nature to the women in its community.
A list of the top five causes for women in technology is displayed below.
For example, the #bondits community aims to empower women to work in a more diverse workforce, create new ideas, and advocate for social change in the technology industry.
It also encourages users to contribute products that are made with gender equality in mind.
“Our mission is to empower and empower women.
We’re building tools that empower women and empower others to take action, including by donating products that have a social impact,” says Dreyers co-founders, Emily and Alex.
Women are making a difference in technology because of their hard work and commitment, she says, but the technology world still struggles with issues like harassment and sexual harassment.
She hopes to see the platform continue to expand and improve in the years ahead.
“We’re building the foundation for a future where women are empowered in the workplace and in the digital space,” she said.
There’s also an effort to bring more diversity to the platform, but she says it’s still in the early stages.
“[We] have to do it by working with women,” Dreyering said.
“But we’re also a diverse group of women, and we want our platform to be inclusive of the diverse experience.”
