5-star nutrition expert and diet guru Mark Sisson, known for his blog and books, dies at age 62
Mark Sissons books and lifestyle articles are now on sale.
Mark was a prolific writer and fitness enthusiast.
He also served as a consultant for several health and fitness magazines.
Sisson was a British-born dietician, trainer and nutritionist who was known for teaching weightlifting, cardio and nutrition.
He was best known for introducing the concept of ‘The Sissi Method’ in the 1980s and pioneered the concept for the weightlifting community in the 1990s.
Sissons was a keen cyclist, and he also enjoyed playing football.
He was a strong believer in using natural foods in the kitchen.
Mark’s death was announced by his publisher, Simon & Schuster, in a statement.
“Mark was an inspirational, passionate and intelligent individual who was a big part of the success of the sport of weightlifting,” Simon & Shuster said.
“He was also a huge fan of healthy living and a regular contributor to a number of fitness magazines, books and websites, including the Wellness World and Nutrition.”
We are deeply saddened to learn of Mark’s passing, which is so unexpected, but he left a lasting legacy of healthy eating and personal health that is truly remarkable.

Mark Sisson was born in London on March 10, 1939, and was educated at the London School of Economics and the University of Buckingham.
He started his career as a commercial journalist before going into the sport nutrition business.
Mark worked as a sports journalist for the Sunday Times, the Evening Standard and the Mirror before founding the Sissistain Fitness Centre in 1980.
He ran the company for 23 years and published more than 100 books, books of advice and fitness products.
The health and wellness community is mourning the loss of Mark Sismondes life.
